The Little Mermaid MUST be Black!
Sometimes change is necessary.
Halle Bailey has been cast as Princess Ariel in Disney’s live-action adaptation of 1989’s The Little Mermaid.
Her blackness must be a focal point of the film.
This is not to say that Bailey should sport an afro and dashiki while underwater, but audiences must know she is a Black woman.
